Getting a Course approved for CORE General 教育, American Institutions, PE and 100 w (GWAR)

The Office of 本科教育 (UE) has the authorization to approve study abroad 课程work to meet lower division General 教育 (GE), upper division GE (菠菜网lol正规平台 Studies), American Institutions (US1-3), 100 w (GWAR), or Physical 教育 (PE)要求.

   1. 你的第一次(& (首选)姓氏
   2. 菠菜网lol正规平台 ID号
   3. Name of host campus and host country (e.g. Yonsei University, South Korea)
   4. List of 课程s planning to take abroad
   5. Specify which Area(s) you are requesting for approval (e.g.， C2区，PE) 
   6. Attach Course Syllabus (or links)

• Upper division GE (菠菜网lol正规平台 Studies) and 100 w (GWAR) approval requirements

  • 1. Must have upper-division standing 

    Students with less than 60 (UE) units completed, need to file the "Request to enroll in 菠菜网lol正规平台 Studies with Less Than 60 Units Completed“形式.

    2. Completion of 区域A3 (or second A2区) with a grade of C- or better.

• Minimum Writing Requirement (by Area):

  • 面积A1 has a minimum writing requirement of 1,500 words

    A2区 has a minimum writing requirement of 8,000 words

    区域A3 has a minimum writing requirement of 6,000 words

    区域E has a minimum writing requirement of 1,500 words

    区域R require a minimum of 3000 words

2. 本科教育 will evaluate your request and initiate Academic Approval Form.  Student's will receive a separate email from DocuSign with the AAF attached.

1. What are the 课程 numbering for Study Abroad 课程s?
   Lower division 课程s are given a 课程 number of 092 (e.g., JPN 092), upper division 课程s are given a 课程 number of 192 (e.g., JPN 192), and graduate level 课程s are given the 课程 number 292 (e.g. 日本292年).
   
   
2. Is approval for a specific 菠菜网lol正规平台 GE 课程?
   approval is NOT for a specific 菠菜网lol正规平台 GE 课程, only for GE Area.
   
   
3. What happens if a 课程 is less than 3 units?
   Courses that are fewer than 3 semester units, will need additional 课程(s) approved to fulfill the GE area unit requirement.
   
   
4. The host campus does not have syllabi available, what can I send to have the 课程(s) 综述了?
   If the syllabus is not available students must email 课程 description(s).
   
   
5. My approved 课程 is was not offered (or unable to enroll in it), can UE approved 不同的课程?
   Yes, students will need to email UE with the new 课程 information and syllabus.
