To help ensure that students, staff, and faculty who have experienced sex- and gender-based discrimination or harassment – including sexual harassment and misconduct, sexual exploitation, dating and domestic violence, stalking, or retaliation – all are strongly encouraged to share their experience with an administrator they trust. 

To help individuals make an informed decision about who they would like to share information with, the information below explains the difference between a responsible employee and a confidential resource.

Responsible Employees

A responsible employee is any employee who is not a designated confidential resource. Any responsible employee who receives information about an incident(s) that may constitute a violation of the Nondiscrimination Policy is required to share all known information about the incident(s) with the 第九条 and Gender Equity Office. Responsible employees are required to report all known information about the incident(s) – including the names of the Parties involved – even when the person has requested anonymity.

Confidential 资源

Confidential resources are limited to physicians, psychotherapists, professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, sexual assault victim’s advocates, and clergy who receive information in the context of their role as a confidential resource.

The following 菠菜网lol正规平台 employees are confidential resources; meaning, the following employees are not required to report information to the 第九条 and Gender Equity Office:

  1. The Campus Survivor Advocate;
  2. The YWCA of Silicon Valley;
  3. Counselors at CAPS;
  4. Physicians in the Student Health Center; and
  5. CSU union representatives who receive information from a union member in a confidential 设置.
